Anne Smyth

Anne has considerable experience in the fields of management and leadership development, organisational change and development, strategic planning and governance, teaching and learning and research. She has worked for over 30 years in public sector and in university settings and is currently working with clients in all parts of health and the community sectors.

Anne is committed to assisting her clients to build confidence and capacity, individually and organisationally so they are better able to navigate the complex and ever-changing systems within which they work.  She is passionate about working where theory and practitioner knowledge intersect to help organisations and their leaders realise what bringing these often- separate strands together can offer. Anne is especially interested in helping to strengthen their capacity to develop collaborative capabilities and engage in productive inter-organisational partnerships and alliances.

An experienced researcher, Anne focuses on social and community research to guide and evaluate good practice and effect change.  Her work is guided by reflective practice; action learning and action research frameworks as these most effectively build capability and capacity, foster sustainable change and embed learning.

Projects have included Learning and Leadership programs in Community Health and Hospitals, Strategic Planning, Governance and Organisational Structure reviews with health, community and local government organisations, a Consultation Program and Evaluation work with the Victorian Departments of Health and Human Services, and the development of an Accreditation Program for the Australasian College of Health Services Management.
