Our Experience : Greek Welfare Society

Evaluation of the Australian Greek Welfare Society Planned Activity Group Program 2007

In 2007, LDC Group conducted an evaluation of the AGWS PAG program operating across the four Melbourne metropolitan regions, namely Brunswick, Sunshine, North Balwyn and Clayton. The key evaluation question was: how does participating in an AGWS Greek speaking PAG make a difference to the lives of Greek-Australian participants and/or their family/carers? The AGWS PAG program sought to evaluate generally how the aims of the program were being fulfilled and specifically:

  • the systems in place; and
  • the outcomes for individual participants and/or their family/carers

Using a modified version of the individual outcomes model used for the Victorian Disability Services Quality Framework, the evaluation sought to identify life area outcomes for individual participants using the domains of:

  • Being safe
  • Choosing supports
  • Expressing culture
  • Having fun
  • Communicating
  • Moving around
  • Building relationships
  • Always learning
  • Being part of a community
  • Looking after self
  • Exercising rights and responsibilities
